Figure 6.  Upper Rail Profile. Gromzer’s rails are like a Volvo, i.e. boxy but good. Rails effectively blend the top of the board into the bottom and many argue that the upper rail area largely represents a cosmetic exercise. Gromzer’s has a very slightly domed deck, which carries the thickness of the board out to the rail line to provide additional volume/flotation for facility in smaller surf. A fuller rail profile of this sort may compromise rail sensitivity, although such compromise should be mitigated by the fact that the board is fairly thin overall. Also, one should bear in mind that one man’s ‘sensitivity’ is another man’s ‘twitchy-ness.’ ok, you can stop twitching now. stop twitching!  jeeze.
